A new type of bacteria was found in 50% of colon cancers. Many were aggressive cases.

A newly identified bacteria found in half of colon tumors may be linked to aggressive colon cancer, according to a study. Researchers discovered Fusobacterium nucleatum bacteria in 52% of the tumors studied. This finding suggests a potential role of gut bacteria in the development or progression of colon cancer.
